Our Regular Submission Deadline Is Coming Up!

I just want to start by thanking everyone who has already submitted to the first annual Gila Valley Film Festival. Here are some numbers for inquiring minds:

• We have received submissions from 25 different countries.

• The top country is the United States with 16. There is a tie for second place between Iran and Russia!

• The top category is Student Narrative Short Film with 54 submissions

• Second place is Student Documentary Short Film with 17 submissions. (This isn’t surprising since we’ve made our student short film competition free to submit)

That means there is a lot of room for submissions in our Narrative Short Film, Documentary Short Film, Narrative Feature, and Documentary Feature categories.

Remember that the Gila Valley Film Festival is a family-friendly festival and a microbudget festival, so all submissions should be equivalent to a PG13 or lower rating and that feature budgets should be below $100,000 and short film budgets should be below $20,000. Also, if your film is in another language, please include English subtitles on the bottom of the screen.

We’re so excited at what we’ve seen so far and we’re excited to see who submits next. The Regular Deadline is on January 28th. The Extended Deadline is March 25th, so there is still two months to submit your film. We will be sending out notifications on April 1st before the festival starts later that month.
